README (for v.102)
******

* Files that should be in the zip archive:

 - TbrPaper.exe, the program file
 - readme.txt, this file
 - Sample Bitmaps, a directory of example images

A GPG signature for the archive is available from edeca.net, I suggest you check the archive against this if you're paranoid.

If you downloaded the installer version these files are by default put in "C:\Program Files\Toolbar Wallpaper Changer".

* What you require:

The program is designed to be used with any version of Windows that include IE5. I have tested it on Windows 98 and Windows 2000 using IE5 and have had no problems.

* What the program does:

The program enables you to put a bitmap graphic (in BMP format) as a tiling background to your Explorer, Internet Explorer and Outlook Express toolbars. It does this by modifying two registry keys (in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar). This means that changes you make will only affect your user account (if Windows is setup with user profiles). A preview mode is included so you can see roughly what your chosen image will look like when used as a background image.

It also has a built GIF/JPEG to BMP converter as Windows wont allow you to use anything other than bitmaps behind the toolbars.

* Problems/limitations with this release:

You have to close and reopen all Explorer/Internet Explorer/Outlook Express windows after you make changes. This isn't a fault with my program, it's just the way Windows works.

* History of changes

v.100 -> * First release
v.101 -> * Fixed error whereby the program would crash if there were references in the registry to images that don't exist
         * Included tabctl32.ocx in installer
v.102 -> * Fixed problems with the preview mode, it should now work on any machine
